NEET 2020 - Exam Dates, Syllabus, Registration, Exam Pattern

The NEET entrance exam is conducted for admission in MBBS, BDS, AYUSH courses, Veterinary, AIIMS, and other medical / paramedical courses by the National Testing Agency India. The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted annually and is conducted in about 2548 examination canters in 155 cities in India. Nearly 16 Lakh candidates appear for the this exam in every year. This exam is taken twice a year by NTA. NEET is the largest medical/Dental & other College entrance examination in all over India.


NEET 2020

  • NEET exam will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday, May 3, 2020
  • NEET entrance exam prospectus has been released on December 2, 2019.
  • The online application form for the NEET examination will be available on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 5 pm.
  • The last date of online submit application of the NEET examination on December 31, 2019
  • You can fill the online application form of NEET (UG) entrance exam by going official website of NTA to ntaneet.nic.in
  • The NEET 2020 Admit Card will be available on Friday, March 27, 2020 for those candidates who have successfully filled the application.
  • After the examination is conducted, candidates can easily download the provisional answer key of NEET exam 2020 in the last week of May 2020.
  • NEET 2020 exam results will be announced in online mode on Thursday, June 4, 2020 with the final answer key and eligible cut-off.
  • NEET Entrance Examination qualifying candidates can apply for counselling across India conducted by MCI in June, while there will be counselling for state level admission after that. NEET Eligibility Criteria


Candidates who want to appear in the NEET entrance exam must first know if they are eligible to take the NEET exam.

Nationality:
  • Indian Nationals,
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Persons with Indian Origin (PIO)
  • Foreign Nationals

Age Limit:
  • Candidates have to complete minimum 17 years by 31 December 2020.
  • Candidates have to complete a maximum of 25 years as on 31 December 2020, students who are belonging to general category.
  • Candidates have to complete a maximum of 30 years as on 31 December 2020, students who are belonging to reserved category.

Qualification Criteria:

Students must pass the Class 12 examination from CBSE or any State Board, it is mandatory to have at least five subjects in the exam i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and must pass an elective.

In the qualifying class 12th examinations, the Candidates must obtain the required marks:
  • General Category – 50% marks
  • SC/ST/OBC category – 40% marks
  • Physically handicapped candidates (General Category) – 45% marks
  • Physically handicapped candidates (SC/ST/OBC) – 40% marks

Maximum Attempts:

  • There is no limit on the number of attempts in NEET entrance exam. Students can sit as many times as they want to appear in the exam.

NEET 2020 Admission Process

The application form for NEET 2020 exam has been released on 2 December 2019. Candidates can apply for NEET 2020 exam only through online process. There is no offline mode available for fill application form. To understand the process better, read and understand the steps below.

NEET 2020 application fee:

The application fee payable for various categories:
  • General: Rs 1500
  • Gen EWS/ OBC: Rs. 1400
  • SC/ ST/ PWD: Rs. 800

Payment Mode: The application fee has to be paid online. It can be paid through credit card / debit card / net banking / e-challan / UPI/ paytm. There is offline mode available for fee payment through bank challan.

How to fill NEET Application form
  • The following are simple steps
  • Visit the official website of NEET
  • After going to the official website, you will see the new registration written on your left side, click on it.
  • Upload the scanned documents in the given size and format.
  • You pay after filling the form through online or offline.
  • After filling the application form, you print the confirmation page so that it will work in future.

Documents required apply for NEET 2020:

Information to be filled in the online application form such as father's / mother's name and
Correctly spelled candidates will issue Aadhaar number (only last 4 digits) / class 12th  roll number Board / Election Card (EPIC No.) / Passport Number / Ration Card Number / Bank Account Number / Other Legitimate Govt. ID number, date of birth, address, mobile number, email id, Etc. can be kept ready. Candidates are advised to check "Replication of Application Form"(Appendix-XVI), before filling the application.
  • Latest passport size Photograph must be white background with mention the applicant's name and date printed below the photograph. (Size 10 KB to 200 KB in JPG/ JPEG format only)
  • The signature should be of white background with black pen. (Size 4 KB to 30 KB in JPG/ JPEG format only)
  • Class 10 passing Certificate. (Size 100 KB to 400 KB)
  • Left hand thumb impression (in case of left hand thumb being unavailable in any case, right
  • Hand thumb impression can be used. (Size: 10 KB to 50 KB in JPG/ JPEG format only)

NEET 2020 Admit Card

NTA will issue NEET 2020 Admit Card on Friday, March 27, 2020. The NEET exam for the year 2020 will be held on Sunday 3 May 2020. NTA will provide NEET 2020 Admit Card till 27 March 2020. NEET Admit Card will be made available through online mode. The board will also send the admit card (copy) in PDF format to the candidates from the registered email ID. Candidates will also have to put their passport size photo on the admit card. 

Steps to download the admit card:
  1. Interested candidates of NEET can download the admit card from the official website - http://www.ntaneet.nic.in/
  2. Select the option of NEET Admit Card 2020
  3. Fill the required details like application number, date of birth, security PIN and click on submit button
  4. Your admit card will be displayed in front of your eyes.
  5. Candidates can check the details given in their admit card and then download the admit card and take a print out of it.

NEET 2020 Syllabus

NEET syllabus 2020 will be based on common syllabus as prescribed by Medical Council of India (MCI). The syllabus of NEET will cover subjects of Zoology, Botany, Physics and Chemistry. NEET 2020 Cut-Off


The cut-off is the minimum score required to pass the entrance exam. The cut-off for NEET exam will be published by NTA on 4 June 2020. This list will have the rank of All India category of qualified candidates. Accordingly, all participating states will prepare their merit list for the process of state counseling. This year the NEET cut-off has increased by 15 points for each category.

Candidates who have cleared the cut-off will have to register themselves for the NEET 2020 counselling process, which will start from the 4th week of June 2020.

NEET 2020 Counselling


NEET 2020 counselling will be conducted through online mode. Counselling will begin in the second week of June 2020. Candidates have to participate in the counselling process which will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee.

Students have to first register for Counselling and then complete their choice. After that, seats will be allotted to the candidates as per reservation policy, availability of seats etc.
